R:.W:. Matthew Winters has scheduled his Official Visit to St. Petersburg Lodge No. 139  (3201 1st St. NE – at Northside Lodge Building) for Tuesday October 16th starting at 7:30 pm. There will be a Meal at 6:30 PM. He is looking forward to a great turnout and much fellowship.

District Deputy Grand Master Visit to Star Lodge No. 78 A Success

A great evening of fellowship and brotherly love was enjoyed by everyone in attendance at the official visit of District Deputy Grand Master Matthew B. Winters at Star Lodge No. 78 this evening. Brother Ed Logan also received his 40 year service award from R:. W:. Winters. For a little jollity, the district committeemen sported some outlandish headgear prior to the meeting.

W:. Bill Yarborough, District 18 Chairman for Masonic Youth, Presents Award

W:. Bill Yarborough, District 18 Chairman of Masonic Youth, on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Florida, presents Devan Ashton Raymer a certificate of recognition for attaining his Eagle Scout. The ceremony was held on September 19th at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg. Ashton’s father, Derek Raymer, is a member of Gulf Beach Lodge, and his late Grandfather, Ray Raymer is a Perpetual Member.

D18 Masonic Leadership Training Session #1 A Success

W:. Steve Nelson, Chairman of the Masonic Leadership Training in District 18, led a very successful first session at Nitram Lodge on Saturday September 29th. Modules 1-5 were covered by W:. Steve Nelson, W:. Tim Long, W:. John Gunter and R:.W:. Howard Knapp.  The second session covering Modules 6-10 will be held on Saturday October 27th at Northside Lodge. MLT1

District 18 Child ID Program Going Full Tilt

ChildIDTen Brothers and Sisters from the District 18 Child ID team put on a Child ID event for Northwest Elementary School in St. Petersburg Thursday evening September 27th.  We had a great time putting the face of Masonry out in the community, socializing with each other and interacting with the children we provided ID’s for.

A big thanks to Maggie Pankonie, Chuck Bailey, Bruce Ward, Ed Leger, Paul Pearson, Earl Ray, Jim Wittstruck, Jon Barber, and Veronica and Heather McShane.

Twenty Seven Masons enjoy an evening of fellowship at the SMMA meeting at Dunedin Lodge No. 192

Twenty seven Masons from eleven Lodges around the county enjoyed a night of fellowship and brotherly love at the Suncoast Master Mason Association meeting last night at Dunedin Lodge. Here is what was accomplished:
* Dunedin Lodge provided a wonderful fried chicken dinner
* The Traveling Gavel is at Gulf Beach Lodge
* The HOT Gavel is at Tampa Bay Lodge
* The Unity Gavel is at Clearwater Lodge
* Each Lodge gave a two minute drill with their upcoming activities and events
* Sickness & Distress was reported by each Lodge
* RW Lambert is running for the Grand South and will speak with the Association at the November 21st meeting
* Officers will start planning on October 9th for the 100th Anniversary Pilgrimage Day in March
* The Shrimp Boil will be held on November 10th at the Masonic Home $15 suggested donation. 11:30- 3:30PM
* The Pistol Shoot will be on October 6th at the Wyoming Antelope Club beginning at 3PM. $30 per person.
* W:. Wendling is taking orders for the new SMMA shirts. $25 Polo, $35 Button up short sleeve
* The members presented approved the updated Gavel Rules proposed by RW Howard Knapp, they are attached to the SMMA website
* RW Paul Stellrecht presented a proposed update to the Bylaws which were accepted by the members present and will aly over to the November meeting for ballot. Proposal will be sent to each Lodge
* As D18 PR Chair, RW Knapp encouraged the Lodges to use the online calendar for the SMMA to get their degrees and events out to the District
* The Smart Phone App “Amity” was introduced and explained to the members present.
